Teacher Card
In order to support the important work of area educators, the Louisville Public Library provides Teacher Cards. Educators are eligible for a special library card that allows them to check out materials for educational use.
A teacher card will be issued at no cost to the patron. A $1.00 fee will be charged to replace lost or damaged card. Please allow at least one week from the date of application for a new teacher card to be processed.
Restrictions:
- Teachers borrowing materials from the Stark Libraries Information Consortium (Louisville Public Library, Stark County District Library and Massillon Public Library) may have only one teacher card issued by one of the consortium members. This card is issued in addition to a personal library card.
- The patron’s personal card must be in good standing to qualify. All cards issued to the patron must be in good standing and all charges paid to qualify for annual renewal in September.
- The number of items loaned out on a teacher card is at the discretion of the library in order to meet the needs of all patrons. Some materials may be restricted due to seasonal or high demand.
- Juvenile videocassettes, book & tape kits, audio books, magazines and Adult Nonfiction AV materials can be checked out on a teacher card for the normal, non-extended loan period (as per Louisville Public Library restrictions).
- Theme kits, art prints, adult fiction videos, CDs and DVDs must be checked out on the teacher’s personal card for the normal loan period.
- Fines will be charged for overdue materials in line with the fine structure currently in effect at the library.
- Teachers will not be charged for up to 3 lost and/or damaged items per year. Charges will apply for all items beyond that limit. In addition, teachers will be charged for all items whose cost exceeds $40.
