40 book challenge

Is your child doing the Forty-Book Challenge or creative book reports this year?  Come see our display for upper-elementary readers, coming September 3.

We have access to short stories, novels and nonfiction for high school and college courses, too.

Make the Most of Your Library Card this month and throughout the school year by utilizing the Articles & Journals feature of our catalog.  This is a great way to easily find sources for research papers or to simply learn more about a favorite topic if you don't have time to read an entire book.  Table sand figures are included in most of these articles, and it will even tell you how to cite it as a source no matter what format you are using for school (APA, MLA, etc).  Log in to your account from our website, enter the topic you are searching for, and click on the Articles & Journals tab.  We are here to help if you have questions.

Research Databases

Research databases are electronic resources that are easy to search.  Many of the sources listed in the databases are available full text, so you can just download the entire source--no need to go looking for the original!  Many research databases also include advice on how to cite that source in your research paper and on your works cited list. To use research databases, you may need your Louisville Public Library card barcode number and PIN.
